Call to nominate top immigrants
Wednesday November 18 2009

Canadians have been invited to submit nominations for their "Top 25 Canadian Immigrants of 2010."

The second annual awards program in the Canadian Immigrant magazine, backed by RBC and Rogers, seeks to uncover and celebrate the stories and achievements of outstanding Canadian immigrants from coast to coast to coast.

From now until Jan 29, 2010, Canadians can submit their nominations at www.canadianimmigrant.ca/top25. At that time, a panel of judges will review all nominees and present a shortlist of finalists online where all Canadians can vote for their favourites, starting Feb 2010.

The Top 25 winners will be announced in May 2010 and will be recognized in Canadian Immigrant magazine, as well as receive a commemorative plaque and a $500 donation from RBC toward an authorized Canadian charity of their choice.

"RBC has a longstanding commitment to making it easier for newcomers to get settled, established and succeed in Canada," said Camon Mak, director, Multicultural Markets, RBC.

The awards program was begun in 2009 by Canadian Immigrant magazine.

The "Top 25 Canadian Immigrants of 2010" is the only Canadian national awards program for immigrants - a people's choice award that recognizes individuals who have made a difference to our national fabric since their arrival to Canada.
