Guinness Hall of Famer and Canada's great record-breaker Suresh Joachim is attempting to recapture the record of travelling the most distance on a treadmill in 48 hours at Shoppers World in Brampton this month.

The 41-year-old marathon man of Mississauga held the record since 2002 until Tony Mangan of Ireland broke it in 2009.

"I am fully prepared to clinch back my record," Joachim told Focus.

In order to break it again, Joachim needs to travel 405.6km on a treadmill within 48 hours at an average speed of 8.45km/hour.

Joachim will start running at 4pm Feb 18 and must finish by 4pm Feb 20.

"I have done it in the past and am confident of doing it again.

"This time I will run at a speed of at least 10km/hour in the initial 10 to 12 hours so that I can take small breaks later," explained Joachim.

Meanwhile Joachim's record-breaking film Sivappu Mazhai that he had made in 11 days 23 hours and 45 minutes in Chennai, India, last year is ready for release around the world.

The Tamil film, in which Joachim took on the leading role along with famous Tamil actress Meera Jasmine, will be released this month in three languages in more than 20 countries with English subtitles.

The movie premiere will be held in Toronto at a date and time to be announced soon.

Joachim is so satisfied with the quality of his first-ever full-length feature film that he has now decided to make one movie every year.

"I did the same in just 11 days which others do in a year or so. I think that's a big achievement. Even in the industry everyone is astonished as it looks like an authentic commercial movie," Joachim said.

He plans to shoot his next two movies in Hollywood and Toronto.
