It was a mistake

This is in response to the letter written by Andrew Nicol.
Please do not blame our elected officials for their absence on Sunday, Nov. 8.
There were two ceremonies at the cenotaph in Brampton for Remembrance Day. The first one was on Sunday the 8th and the other on Wednesday, Nov. 11.
Our service on the Sunday is for people who are unable to attend through the week.
Because the official ceremony is on Nov. 11, this is the day that the elected MPs and MPPs dedicate the government wreaths.
All of these people were in attendance on Wednesday, Nov. 11 and did lay their wreaths.
Now for the explanation of the error.
Because we had two services, somehow the same list got to the minister and he read out the people who were dedicating wreaths.
I am taking full responsibility for this grave error and I hope Linda Jeffrey, Andrew Kania and Navdeep Singh Bains will accept my humblest apology.
This was in no way their fault.
I also wish that Mr. Nicol had phoned Branch 15 and I could have explained this to him.
I am truly sorry for this as I was in charge on behalf on Branch 15 and hopefully something like this never happens again.
As I always say, “People who never do anything, are the ones who never make mistakes”.
