Lawyer and community volunteer Pam Hundal-Bhangal has been elected vice-president of the PC Party.
Pam had put her name forward for the volunteer post, which was also being contested by another woman, Fitz Matheson.
The elections were held last weekend in Niagara Falls, where over 1,600 PC members had gathered for the annual convention.
PC Leader Tim Hudak, who had a Leadership review, was supported by 79 per cent of voters.
Richard Ciano, a long-time federal and provincial organizer, won the battle for president of the PC Party.
Pam said she felt proud to have won the contest. In the process she has become the first ever Punjabi female to be a vice-president of the PC Party.
Pam feels the South Asian community has much to offer Ontario politics, and that it needs to have such representation at the executive level. She hopes to continue to be a voice for residents in the Brampton area and in her riding of Brampton – Springdale.
