On behalf of United Way of Peel Region, I thank everyone in our community for their extraordinary generosity during a difficult and challenging year. Thanks to an outpouring of support from thousands of individuals, businesses, organizations, and community groups, we exceeded our 2009 goal and raised a phenomenal $12,835,582. This is a tremendous achievement given the current global recession and tough economic times!
As a result of our community's support, United Way can continue to invest in a vital network of services that residents rely on every day. Working together, we can build the type of community in which individuals, families and neighbourhoods can thrive and be resilient, in tough times and beyond. Together, we can ensure everyone in our community is cared for, connected and included.
We thank the hundreds of volunteers for their outstanding efforts in the 2009 campaign. We especially thank the members of our 2009 Campaign Cabinet and our Campaign Chair, Bob Johnson.
As we embark on our 2010 fundraising campaign, we invite everyone who lives and works in Peel to join with us in making our community great for everyone. There are several ways to get involved. Please visit unitedwaypeel.org to learn more.
